The Smitty’s Belts Loop Splicing Needles are designed for splicing loops in dacron or hollow core braided spectra lines for wind-on leaders, and are sold individually for those who are looking to only splice a specific size line or replace a missing piece of their set. All Smitty’s Needles are hand-made from medical grade 304 stainless steel tubing. The tubing used has a thicker wall than the tubing used by other needle manufacturers and has proven to be the best and most durable on the market. The tube is welded closed and ground to a slightly rounded tapered point. The entire needle is then highly polished, thoroughly cleaned inside and out to guarantee it’s free of burrs and debris, and then inspected by hand to ensure quality standards are met.
