Anglers will find the action to be a slower thumping vibration as opposed to the rapid buzz achieved by most lipless crankbaits. This thumping action displaces large amounts of water and gives the bait a meandering wobble that pressured fish may not be used to seeing. The Apex Vibe functions well on both a straight retrieve or with the increasingly popular “yo-yo” style retrieve where the bait is aggressively ripped upwards through the water with a lift of the rod tip, then allowed to fall on slack line.
